For round cable, first multiply the outer diameter of the cable x 20. Then round this number up to the nearest whole number, and select the closest size assembly (≥ rounded number). For flat/ribbon cable, first multiply the minor diameter of the cable x 40. Then round this number up to the nearest whole number, and select the closest size assembly (≥ rounded number). You can also check with the cable manufacturer’s specs for your cable. Use their “operation” (not installation) radius since the stored cable will be under no tension. Consideration should include single or double-wrap applications, as both are available in the Opti-Loop® FOS product offering.
