PCORE adheres to the more stringent cantilever test requirements of the C57.19.01-1991 standard and therefore, all PCORE bushings can be used in transformers and oil circuit breakers. By specifying a TBI bushing, it allows users to reduce spare bushing inventory and also prevents the user from placing a spare bushing in an OCB that is only mechanically designed to be use in a transformer. It also allows higher pulling forces during installation in most cases and eliminates the situation that the replacement bushing cannot handle the existing pulling force.
