A POC bushing is a Paper-Oil-Capacitor type bushing. A capacitance graded core is wound around a center conductor which is created with high dielectric paper and conductive layers. This bushing core is impregnated with dried, degassed oil. A POC bushing utilizes an upper and lower porcelain insulator for external insulation. POC bushings are available starting at 25kV 400/1200 Amps through 500kV 2000 Amps. The C1 power factor reading for a POC bushing should be 0.5% or below per the IEEE bushing standard.
